College/Career
The mission of our College & Career Counseling Department is to provide college and career readiness to all Cristo Rey Tampa students. Our College Counselor supports students and families during their four years at CRT to find the best “fit” college or university by providing guidance and support through the college, scholarship, and financial aid process.
Cristo Rey’s comprehensive four-year program utilizes Naviance—an online guide that assists students with college and career planning—and engages freshmen in learning-style instruments, personality inventories, career surveys, goal-setting, and resume development. Students learn the importance of their “numbers” regarding GPA and standardized test scores, and how those numbers are used in college acceptances, Bright Futures, and scholarship awards.
College & Career Services for Cristo Rey Tampa students includes:
- Communication with parents/guardians and students — the essential key in the exciting journey towards a post secondary education
- Providing assistance in developing a data driven college interest list
- Guidance with standardized testing
- Assistance with essay writing
- Opportunities to meet with college representatives through Rep Visits and Semester College Fairs
- Field trips to local college campuses
- Guidance and information for Dual Enrollment and Summer programs
