At Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School, we’re committed to creating a learning environment where every student thrives—academically, socially, and emotionally. Beginning  July 20, 2026, at Summer Business Training, we launched the Yondr Phone-Free Schools Program—a proven, bell-to-bell approach that supports student focus, well-being, and connection by removing mobile phone distractions during the school day.

How the Program Works:
Each student will be assigned a Yondr pouch—a secure, lockable case for storing personal devices. Students are responsible for bringing their pouch to and from school each day and keeping it in good condition.

• Upon arrival: Students power off their phone, AirPods, and smartwatch (or switch to airplane mode), place all devices in the pouch, and lock it during their first period class.
• During the day: Students keep the locked pouch in their backpack.
• At dismissal: Students unlock pouches at designated stations to retrieve their devices.

This process is quick and simple, and it will be supervised by staff as part of our daily routine.

With student safety as our top priority, we will follow our standard safety protocols in the event of an emergency. If you need to reach your child during the school day, please contact our main office at 813-621-8300.

Supply List '26-'27

Before any student-athlete may participate in practices or competitions, the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) requires that all eligibility requirements be completed. To ensure your child is cleared as quickly as possible, please complete the following items as soon as possible.

FHSAA Participation Requirements

Each student-athlete must have the following completed before participating in athletics:

• FHSAA EL2 Preparticipation Physical Evaluation completed and signed by a licensed medical provider. The physical must be current and valid for the 2026–2027 school year.
• FHSAA EL3 Consent and Release from Liability Certificate completed and signed by both the parent/guardian and student-athlete.
• Completion of all required athletic registration forms and return them to the Main Office by August 10, the first day of school.
• Academic Eligibility as required by FHSAA and Cristo Rey Tampa. Student-athletes must maintain academic eligibility throughout the school year.
• Attendance and Behavioral Expectations must remain in good standing according to school and athletic department policies.

Please note that student-athletes will not be permitted to participate in practices, workouts, or competitions until all required documentation has been submitted, reviewed, and approved.

Important Reminders

• Submit all required forms as early as possible to avoid delays.
• Physicals must remain valid throughout the athletic season.
• Families should notify the Athletic Department immediately if any medical information or emergency contacts change during the school year.

1. On workdays, students are expected to arrive at Launch by 7:30 a.m. (instead of 7:45 a.m.) to ensure transportation to job sites occurs on time, per the CWSP office.
2. CWSP Day Shifts - The 10th-grade class will be divided into two cohorts for their workday. Half of the class will work on Wednesday and half will work on Thursday. 
3. Fridays are no longer a rotation day—they are now a freshman workday.

As we begin the new school year, we've introduced several important updates to help ensure a safe, organized, and successful year. Please review the new procedures below so you and your family are prepared for the first day of school.

1. Yondr Pouches - We have launched the Yondr Phone-Free Schools Program—a proven, bell-to-bell approach that supports student focus, well-being, and connection by removing mobile phone distractions during the school day. All students will be issued a Yondr pouch to place their phone in upon arrival at school. At the end of the school day, students will unlock the pouch at one of six stations on campus to take out their phone. Learn more and 
2. Technology - All students must use a school-issued device, and there will be a $100 charge for broken devices. Personal devices are not allowed. 
3. Handbook updates - Our Student & Parent Handbook has been updated (dress code and technology charges). Please review the Handbook to familiarize yourself with Cristo Rey Tampa policies and procedures. 
4. New Parental Portal -  We have transitioned from PlusPortals to PowerSchool. You will be able to keep a pulse on your child's grades and progress. Click here to sign in, and full access will be open during the first week of August. 

Cristo Rey Tampa offers free breakfast and lunch to all students in partnership with Maschio's. 

Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 -7:40 a.m.

At lunchtime, students can enjoy a hot lunch. Grab-and-go salads, wraps, yogurt parfaits, and snacks are available at a cost. 

Uniforms can be purchased from Educational Outfitters. New this year, freshmen will wear P.E. uniforms. 

Daily uniform checks will be conducted to ensure students comply with the school's uniform guidelines. Thank you for helping your student arrive each day dressed according to the approved uniform policy. See the Student & Parent Handbook for fees.

Food Pantry - Cristo Rey Tampa is proud to partner with Feeding Tampa Bay and BayCare to support the health and well-being of our students and their families through an on-campus food pantry. 

Through this collaborative effort, families and students can shop in the pantry for fresh groceries and pantry staples. By removing barriers to basic needs, we help create the stability students need to thrive academically and personally. The Food Pantry is open to all students, faculty, and staff throughout the school year. Our pantry, staffed by our Parent Council members, is open one to two days a week and on additional days leading up to holiday breaks. 

Laundry Room - Through the Whirlpool Care Counts Laundry Program, we are fortunate to offer washing and drying to our families. If you need these services, please email Dean Shane Matteson at smatteson@crths.org and have your child stop by his office for a laundry bag. 

Mental Health Resources -  We provide classroom support and brief check-ins to promote mental health and offer extra guidance during the school day. Around midterms and finals, students are invited to stress-reducing lunchtime activities designed to help them relax and recharge. These activities are optional and meant to give students tools for managing stress in healthy, practical ways.

Parents/guardians are welcome to reach out about family counseling, which may be available in certain circumstances.
