Transforming Our Future – One Student At a Time

Students Use Creativity To Teach Grammar

In 9th Grade English lessons, to spice up the teaching and learning of Grammar, Cristo Rey students were given the project to create Grammar Posters aimed at 4th-grade students. This activity was an excellent way for our 9th Grade students to revise their Grammar skills (the nine parts of speech) and for them to think about the learning process.  How will my poster support the grammar learning of a 4th grader reading it?

Earlier in the month, two CRT students, Christopher Cabrera, and Heidy Zamora, along with English Teacher Mrs. Kimouche, delivered the finished posters to 4th Grader students at The Collaboratory Preparatory Academy.  The 4th graders graded the posters based on a marking criterion of creative design, grammar elements, and most importantly did it teach them about Grammar!  What a meaningful experience for all students.

Thanks to The Collaboratory for the first of many opportunities to learn together. #CRTProud
